Description Thomas Tuttle 2006-12-23 08:09:05 UTC
Emerging kdelibs fails in my amd64 chroot without X installed or enabled:

checking for X... configure: error: Can't find X includes. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant.

It appears that kdelibs is trying to enable X support even though I don't have USE="X" set. The system I tried to install it on doesn't have X, since it's my arch testing chroot. I will attach my emerge --info and make.conf. (package.keywords does not contain any relevant packages and package.unmask does not exist).

Same symptoms here...
But X doesn't seem to be a valid USE-flag for kde-base/kdelibs, so it maybe should unconditionally depend on x11-libs/libXt? (unless it's simply the configure script and not the package itself that expects the presence of libXt)

Comment 5 thedeath 2006-12-25 01:49:24 UTC
when i do "emerge x11-libs/libXt" and afterwards emerge kdebase again it does the job and compile kdelibs. so it seems its just the configure that expects libXt present.
Comment 6 Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-25 05:49:38 UTC
Added libXt as build-time dependency for kde.eclass.
