dbus-1.x is released and unmasked in the default tree, although gnome-vfs depends on dbus < 0.90, this results in a neverending loop of remerging dbus.
2.6.13 i forgot to mention is the version of gnome-vfs.
I fail to see how <snip> || ( >=dev-libs/dbus-glib-0.71 <sys-apps/dbus-0.90 ) </snip> results in never-ending loop.
If 1.0.2 is installed, and gnome-vfs depends on something which is smaller than 0.90, than 1.0.2 get deinstalled and upgraded everytime i update the world. dbus-glib is no required dependency for gnome-vfs and not installed here.
(In reply to comment #3) > and gnome-vfs depends on something which is smaller than 0.90 It doesn't, as shown above.
And, to make this completely clear, even if it did, with you mixing stable and unstable ebuilds, any upgrade/downgrade loops are your problem, not a bug. Either stick enough stuff into /etc/portage/package.use to fix such a loop, or stick with completely stable or completely ~arch tree. Closing this bug as it's not a bug at all.
<snip> || ( >=dev-libs/dbus-glib-0.71 <sys-apps/dbus-0.90 ) </snip> <sys-apps/dbus-0.90 <- it does.
Like you want.
(In reply to comment #5) > Either stick enough stuff into /etc/portage/package.use to fix such a loop, Err, obviously package.keywords (In reply to comment #6) > <snip> > || ( >=dev-libs/dbus-glib-0.71 <sys-apps/dbus-0.90 ) > </snip> > > <sys-apps/dbus-0.90 <- it does. > Well no, it doesn't... http://devmanual.gentoo.org/general-concepts/dependencies/index.html Anyway, this bug is closed.
