I'm not a developer. That means I can't use stuff like patch, diff,... But the KDE team patched the kdebase-kioslaves-3.5.5/kioslave/media/mediamanager/halbackend.h header (structure taken from /tmp/portage) to make KDE to mount floppies right with hal. This is approved for 3.5.6 (see KDESVN commit 615516). please append "void setFloppyMountState( Medium* medium );" after "void setFloppyProperties(Medium* medium);" (line ~150).
