as stated here gimp-cvs fails exposing a bug in pygtk. Includes link to gimp devs fix patch.

Copy the patch to your overlay and put the patch in the files dir. Digest the ebuild and emerge pygtk. gimp cvs should compile now.

I ran into this issue (at least I think -- I got here from http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-521119.html ) and according to the forum post, it can be fixed by upgrading to pygtk-2.10.4 -- this also worked for me.

Thanks.  Declaring this fixed, since 2.10.4 appears to be fixed.
