When I run fbsetbg to set my background, I am given an xmessage error "fbsetbg: Something went wrong while setting the wallpaper." It advises to "Run 'display -geometry 3200x1200+0+0 -window root usr/share/fluxbox/backgrounds/satori2x.jpg' from an xterm to find out what." The output when I run fbsetbg is attached. The advised command is attached as well. ### emerge --info ### Portage 2.1.1-r2 (default-linux/ppc/ppc64/2006.1/32bit-userland/970, gcc-4.1.1, glibc-2.4-r4, 2.6.18-gentoo-r3 ppc64) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.18-gentoo-r3 ppc64 PPC970FX, altivec supported Gentoo Base System version 1.12.6 Last Sync: Wed, 20 Dec 2006 13:30:05 +0000 distcc 2.18.3 powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu (protocols 1 and 2) (default port 3632) [disabled] ccache version 2.3 [enabled] app-admin/eselect-compiler: [Not Present] dev-java/java-config: [Not Present] dev-lang/python: 2.4.3-r4 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r5 dev-util/ccache: 2.3 dev-util/confcache: [Not Present] sys-apps/sandbox: 1.2.17 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.60 sys-devel/automake: 1.4_p6, 1.5, 1.6.3, 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.17 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.3.14 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.22 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.16 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="ppc" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CBUILD="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -mtune=970 -mcpu=970 -mabi=altivec -funroll-loops -fno-strict-aliasing -mpowerpc-gfxopt -mmultiple -mstring" CHOST="powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/share/X11/xkb" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/env.d /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/web2c" CXXFLAGS="-O2 -pipe -mtune=970 -mcpu=970 -mabi=altivec -funroll-loops -fno-strict-aliasing -mpowerpc-gfxopt -mmultiple -mstring" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoconfig buildpkg ccache distlocks fixpackages metadata-transfer sandbox sfperms strict userpriv usersandbox" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo http://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo ftp://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo" LINGUAS="en ko" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS="--timeout=180 --exclude-from=/etc/portage/rsync_excludes" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --delete-after --stats --timeout=180 --exclude='/distfiles' --exclude='/local' --exclude='/packages'" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://slinky/gentoo-portage" USE="X a52 aac aalib acl alsa alsa_cards_snd-aoa altivec apache2 apm avahi bash-completion berkdb bitmap-fonts bluetooth bzip2 cairo cdr cgi cjk cli crypt ctype cups curl dba dbus divx4linux dlloader dri dts dvd dvdr dvdread elibc_glibc encode exif ffmpeg fftw firefox flac foomaticdb gd-external gdbm gif gnome gphoto2 gpm gtk gtk2 gtkhtml guile hal howl iconv icq imagemagick imap imlib imlib2 input_devices_keyboard input_devices_mouse jpeg kernel_linux latex ldap lib lib++ libg++ libpcre libwww linguas_en linguas_ko mad mikmod mng motif mp3 mpeg mysql ncurses nls nptl nptlonly nsplugin odbc offensive oggvorbis opengl openssl oss pcre pdf pdflib perl php pic pie png posix ppc ppds python quicktime readline ruby samba sdk sdl session slang snmp soap sockets spell spl ssl tcltk tcpd tetex theora threads tiff truetype type1-fonts unicode usb userland_GNU vcd video_cards_radeon vim-with-x vlc wxwindows xine xinerama xinetd xml xml2 xmlrpc xorg xsl xv xvid zlib" Unset: CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS

Which ebuild and version is this about? No fbsetbg command here...
my fluxbox version is 0.9.15.1-gentoo-r2 whenever i run the fbsetbg command, whether with a valid path to a file or not, i get the above error. was asked to report this from the forums. sorry it took me so long to get back and report version info.
Is this bug present in 1.0rc2-r2? What does fbsetbg -i give you? Can you try another wallpaper setter? xsri has a ~ppc build.
I am closing this bug, as I am unable to replicate it. Please re-open with the output of 'fbsetbg -i' if the problem persists with fluxbox-1.0_rc3
