Description Vasilis Lourdas 2006-12-20 01:00:39 UTC
After upgrading to thunderbird-1.5.0.9 (security fixes), a rebuild of enigmail is required. However, it depends on version 1.5.0.7 of thunderbird.

0.94.1.ebuild patch for enigmail to build against thunderbird 1.5.0.9

This is a patch to modify the current stable enigmail-0.94.1 ebuild to build against thunderbird-1.5.0.9. Some version numbers are hard coded in the ebuild (ugly), this is just a temporary solution for enigmail to build against the latest thunderbird version, until the proper ebuild is out in the tree.

Even though it was built against 1.5.0.7, I found that the enigmail which resulted still worked with 1.5.0.9. Is enigmail not working for you, or are you just concerned in an abstract sense that it's building against an old version?

Well, it's mostly the second and something else. When I first tried to emerge enigmail, it started downloading thunderbird-1.5.0.7 which I had deleted from distfiles to free up some space and the download was going to take some time. It's a little annoying to have the latest version of thunderbird and to build enigmail against two versions behind of thunderbird. A revision update of enigmail would do the job fine with the latest version (and it's a package that takes a couple of minutes to emerge, no harm done for a revision update). Isn't that logical?

It works...

I *never* said it does not work (although my initial report may suggest it does not). I explain the reasons I opened this bug in comment #3.

Anyway, thank you for your time.
