User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.0.5) Gecko/20060731 Epiphany/2.14 Firefox/1.5.0.5
Build Identifier:

I am currently installing Gentoo (still chrooted), so have very much a base system.
As per part 9.1 of the Install Handbook, I typed 'emerge xfsprogs'
However, the compile failed, giving the following output:

Calculating dependencies... done!

Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-12-19 14:49:13 UTC
your system is broken some how ... my guess is your glibc install is corrupt or your weird mounts are screwing it all up
Comment 3 nick 2006-12-19 18:47:44 UTC
Aah yes, sorry, my mistake.
I had set up /var and /usr as symbolic links to elsewhere, which I now see portage doesn't like. They're bound (mount -o bind) in place now, which is much nicer.
Thanks for your help.
