The new iMac that I have will _NOT_ boot a gentoo iso. An older iMac that I have has no problem booting it. Now seeing as this exact computer came out very recently, and the last iso released was on 12-28 (i believe), I think that possibly there could be some new hardware architecture that is not recognized by the kernel. It's got a new superdrive that's twice as fast as the old one in the old g4 iMac's...perhaps that's why? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Boot with CD in the drive, holding C to boot the cd, or option to show bootable media. It doesn't even show up there. 2. 3. Actual Results: Mac OS X booted. Expected Results: Gentoo Linux should have started installation.
probably because that livecd is using an older version of yaboot. new livecd should be ready any minute now.
The new live cd is on the mirrors, can you test/confirm that it works for you? (others with same hardware have had success)
