I recently switched to a 1920x1200 monitor and it took me a while to find the correct Modeline for my xorg.conf file to actually use this resolution under x11. But now that it works I notice that gv, both version 3.6.1-r3 and 3.6.2-r1, does not show PostScript documents with their correct aspect ratio: they appear to be stretched horizontally as during the time when x11 would default to 1600x1200 before I found the correct Modeline for 19200x1200. On the other hand, ghostscript 8.54 (2006-05-17) displays the same Postscript files properly. -- J

Do the screen dimensions according to xdpyinfo match the actual dimensions of your monitor?
OK, this is fixed. Careful but too late reading of the gv documentation revealed that gv does not always properly determine the screen size. After doing this manually in my .gv file, the display is again correct. -- J
