Code Listing 2.6 (Switching to gamin)

Directs users to --unmerge fam. As gamin depends on fam this also uninstalls gamin and prevents gnome-settings-daemon from executing.

No, gamin does NOT depend on fam; it blocks it. This is not a documentation bug at all.

You don't have app-admin/fam installed at all, why are you unmerging it? What are you trying to switch to? Sigh...

Someone please change it to emerge --unmerge app-admin/fam because thinking apparently hurts...

No reason to get surly. The corrected command doesn't try to uninstall gamin. But one can and should assume that these documents are for new users. Why on earth would a seasoned veteran need them? That said, new users are likely to play the copy/paste game and while I was able to figure it out others may not.
