Description Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-15 05:41:00 UTC
This is simple.

Add "ttyPSC0" to securetty for support for EFIKA serial console.

we dont just add device nodes to securetty for everyone ... you have to design a state where it only gets added where/when needed
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-16 05:02:30 UTC
Ehh... the PPC64/IBM stuff was added not too long ago, so I'm not sure that is really fact.

Now, if you want to wrap the thing on an efika USE flags or something else equally as pointless for adding a device node that is the equivalent of "ttyS0" on this hardware platform, I guess that would be acceptable, but not being able to use these things out of the box is rather stupid.

have you looked at the code recently ? i made sure that the ibm cruft isnt added to everyone

i dont care how you detect the efika as long as it doesnt suck and it doesnt pollute everyone's default file
