When printing e-mail messages from evolution, only the headers and page numbers are printed. Space where the message body should be is blank. The number of pages seems correct. In print preview, the same problem is seen. I guess this may be some kind of font configuration problem, but I don't know how to verify this. Re-emerging evolution and gnome-base/libgnomeprint did not help.

When printing address book details, a letter icon will precede each alphabetical catagory (ie. "A", "B") in black bold box. For me, this doesn't happen. All I see is a solid black box with no letter. Almost as if the letter is printing a "black letter" inside a "black box", hence, the box is solid black. What should show is a "white letter" inside of a "black box". Or, it's possible the letter/font is not printing at all inside of the box. This bug has been present on my system for more then a year now, and since, I've probably reinstalled all applications since and I also see this bug on my other boxes. This bug sounds related. Some other debug options, recompile Evolution with debug options set w/i /etc/make.conf and run through gdb and, probably best to examine the postscript files being generated by Evolution.
Bernhard, roger, are your bugs reproducible with evolution-2.8.x? If so, could you, please, post it upstream and give us URL here. I did not manage to reproduce you problems here...
using -O3 isn't supported by gnome herd, please fix your CFLAGS and try newer version of evolution.
