Description Scott Miller 2006-12-11 14:03:42 UTC
Digikam cannot open 16bit tiff files for me. I've tried personal copies as well as example tiff files from here:

 http://www.remotesensing.org/libtiff/images.html

Error message in terminal is always:

digikam: WARNING: TIFF loader: Cannot handle non-stripped images. Loading file /home/stmiller/Pictures/libtiffpic/quad-lzw.tif
digikam: WARNING: Failed to load image quad-lzw.tif
 digikam: WARNING: [Digikam::DImg* Digikam::DImgInterface::getImg()] d->image is NULL

 Digikam version: 0.9.0-rc2
 libtiff version: 3.8.2-r2

 --------------------------------

I found a similar bug report here:
 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=125916

of a 16bit image not being able to be displayed properly.
But I cannot open the image at all in Digikam.

 -----------
I'm using PPC 32bitUL/ppc64. Looking for any suggestions. Thanks all.

 stmiller@stmiller ~ $ uname -a

 --------

And I do have 'tiff' as a use flag.

Digikam DOES load the camera data from the file. So it can read that. And Kuickshow CAN open these tiffs.

Please, if there is an application bug, send this upstream: http://bugs.kde.org
Feel free to CC me in the bug you fill.
Unless there is a problem with the ebuild itself, let upstream fix it.
