Having a different problem with it while trying to reproduce this bug. Sorry, this could take some time.

Could someone else from the sci-mathematics herd please check this? I don't have the feeling I'll get to fix this anytime soon, sorry.
Hi Patrick, I'll try to have a look at it this weekend. Unfortunately, the sci-mathematics herd, aka me :), is currently a bit stretched. cheers, Markus
(In reply to comment #5) > Hi Patrick, > > I'll try to have a look at it this weekend. Unfortunately, the sci-mathematics > herd, > aka me :), is currently a bit stretched. > > cheers, > Markus > I had a brief look at it yesterday and from what I can tell many of the Makefiles that configure generates are messed up which leads to .ui files not being compiled (giving rise to the error reported in #3). Also it looks like as if moc isn't being run either which leads to a bunch of other errors later on. There's also a bunch of C++ badness in the code itself such as destructors of virtual classes declared non-virtual and such. I'll see if I can fix it up, but it looks to me as if the package is showing its age. cheers, Markus
I got the same error. Do you intend to fix this ?
Sorry for the double post, I mean the same error as comment #3, with the *ui.h not being generated.
I will try as soon as I have some time. This will be no small fix I am afraid and really should be done upstream. Unfortunately, it does not look like there has been any activity since 2003 (!) and I am not sure how long we can keep this package alive. Thanks, Markus
Marks, ping!
(In reply to comment #10) > Marks, ping! > Thanks for the reminder ;) After looking at it once again I have decided that I will no attempt to fix this since it would be a fairly major undertaking which should really be done upstream. In light of the fact the development of the package seems to have seized since 2003 I think we should remove the package from portage unless somebody else is willing to look at it and provide a patch. Any strong opinions why we should keep the package? Thanks, Markus
if upstream is dead and we have problems with new gcc, i think no other chances to have them in the tree...
ksimus is not in the portage tree anymore.
