I found an ebuild on the web, available at http://jawed.name/dev/gentoo/cxoracle-4.2.ebuild. I renamed it to the latest version (4.3) and it worked fine. FYI I just used this ebuild and it seems to be working on amd64. It is required by oraschemadoc which I wanted to play with. I currently have the following oracle client packages installed: dev-db/oracle-instantclient-basic-10.2.0.3 dev-db/oracle-instantclient-sqlplus-10.2.0.3 I think they are slightly outdated but are working fine.
