On the ibiblio.org mirror and (possibly) others the 
xfree-4.2.1-r2.ebuild has 2 files in it that are listed as .gz files but are not
compressed therefore failing both MD5 digests and uncompression (if md5s are
rebuilt) when installing.

The following files are guilty:
4.2.0-4.2.1.diff patch
wacom tablet patch

i just nuked all my distfiles and emerged it ... everything d/l-ed and emerged just fine

joe, you wouldn't happen to know which mirror you downloaded from, would you?  closing as this hasn't been reproducible.
