media-video/kaffeine-0.8.3 introduced a feature where the settings for contrast, hue, saturation and brightness were saved and restored for the xine engine on repeated uses. However it the settings were incorrectly restored the first time kaffeine was used, greatly increasing the contrast of the video on i810 hardware and possibly having other effects elsewhere.

The issue is fixed upstream in the following bug: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=138340

I will attach a patch from kaffeine svn which fixes the issue.

Sorry that no one came to this bug Raymond. Supposing it's fixed in 0.8.4 otherwise reopen, please.
