I emerged dev-util/sysprof. After loading the compiled module my machine freezes completely. I have to cold boot. The same happens with the latest version of sysprof (1.0.7) from the developer homepage. Created attachment 103781 [details] ebuild 1.0.8
Taking over maintenance of sysprof with the OK of vapier (it was maintainer-needed anyway), so reassigning. Doing the version bump and checking if it fixes freezes later today or tomorrow
The latest version (1.0.8) fixes the problem with preemptive kernels (at least for me).
1.0.8 added to tree, which fixes the panic as advertised by NEWS file and confirmed by you. Closing as fixed
