Trying to emerge latest portage gives the following error:

!!! Digest verification failed:
!!! /usr/portage/distfiles/portage-2.1.2_rc2-r4.patch.bz2
!!! Reason: Failed on MD5 verification
!!! Got: 44e55c9063d92a45f00191e6125719d6
!!! Expected: 2efe0961cad1c13b4517fa55b85cc7a8

I've resynced and deleted the files from /usr/portage/distfiles, still getting the same error.

2efe0961cad1c13b4517fa55b85cc7a8 is the correct MD5. Try removing http://212.219.56.134/sites/www.ibiblio.org/gentoo/ from GENTOO_MIRRORS, since that particular mirror seems to have an incorrect file. That mirror should eventually sync with upstream and get the correct file.
