After upgrade to net-misc/dhcpcd-3.0.1 from net-misc/dhcpcd-2.0.8-r3. I get this in my dmesg. sky2 eth0: enabling interface sky2 eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both sky2 eth0: disabling interface I have to manually do /etc/init.d/net.eth0 start and it will bring up the interface perfectly. vaxen@homer ~ $ cat /etc/conf.d/net modules=("ifconfig") config_eth0=("dhcp") dhcpcd_eth0="-t 20"
Same problem here. Tell me if I need to post specific info.
Downgrading to version 3.0.0 does not help. I had to download to version 2.0.8-r3
I second this problem. However, it only happens on my laptop (Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro V2020, Realtek 8139 NIC) while dhcpcd-3.x works on my desktop (VIA EPIA-MII, Via Rhine-II NIC).
dhcpcd-3 never disables the interface. However, it may a timeout issue causing the Gentoo init scripts to disable the interface. Please test the tarball at http://dev.gentoo.org/~uberlord/dhcpcd-3.0.2_pre2.tar.bz2 and see if that fixes this problem or not.
Fixed in dhcpcd-3.0.2
