Diego, I read in your blog about alsa that alsa-driver-1.0.14_pre20061130 is for 2.6.19? Can this be the problem since I use still 2.6.18?

Just a thought
Stefan

Okay the problem is not the kernel..
Can either of you two try after merging automake 1.10 ?

Uhm, get a try to autoconf ~arch too?
I'm not really sure what's changing between my system and yours a part for those which could get a problem.
Comment 10 Giacomo Perale 2006-12-01 07:27:22 UTC
No difference. The problem seems to be specifically due to emu10k1, because I can build the modules with ALSA_CARDS="intel8x0"

It's happening to me too, but interestingly the configure script accepts "emu10k1x". I don't know what the difference is though, so I haven't tried it yet...

I fixed the problem by using the solution in http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-3764321.html :

I enabled

Device Drivers -> Generic Driver Options -> Userspace firmware loading support

in my kernel config and could compile the latest alsa-driver without a glitch.

Greetz
Stefan

PS: Is it allowed for me to change the status to FIXED?

It's not fixed, yet, I'll see to make the ebuild check for that.

Now fixed in CVS.
