Emerging kghostview I'm wondering why the package uses arts:

[ebuild  N    ] kde-base/kghostview-3.5.5  USE="arts -debug -kdeenablefinal -kdehiddenvisibility -xinerama"

I am wondering why are you asking such questions in bugzilla... Read the makefile. ;)
