Description Francisco José Cañizares Santofimia 2006-11-23 14:20:03 UTC
As described in the URL, some people we do have /media as a symlink instead of being a real directory. Although it can mount well the devices, the problem comes when unmounting them:

pumount /media/backup
Error: mount point /var/media/backup is not below /media/

In that bug there is also a patch that I'll attach here. It just needs to be added in " src_unpack() " of current pmount-0.9.13.ebuild ebuild.

Thanks in advance :)

The patch I think that should be added to pmount-0.9.13.ebuild

Thanks in advance :)

While I will consider this patch, I do believe there are possible security implications.

What the above linked bug on Debian proposes would be your best bet. To always make sound that /var/media is bound to /media if you did something similar.

Get this accepted upstream and we will apply it (It is an ubuntu dev so it shouldn't be too hard ;) )
