Bug 155991 – Realplayer 10.0.7/8 makes popping noises on playback

Realplayer makes popping noises on playback using both streaming sources (www.shoutcast.com) and local mp3 files. The same files sound fine (no popping) when using audacious.

System is using kernel (genkernel) gentoo-sources-2.6.18-r2

Tried realplayer 10.0.7 and 10.0.8 with the same results.

Sound card: ALi Corporation High Definition Audio/AC'97 Host Controller (rev 01)
