Description Martin von Gagern 2006-11-22 11:48:29 UTC
There is a newer version of the jarbundler ant task which is used to bundle a Java program as a Mac OS X Application. Seems like maintainer and homepage changed since the 1.4 present in portage.

jarbundler-1.8.1.ebuild

I used the old jarbundler-1.4 ebuild, but modified the eclass (now second generation), the HOMEPAGE and SRC_URI, and some internals in src_install.

I'm a bit surprised to read a ChangeLog entry "Version bump to latest versioned release", referring to 1.7,, from April this year, when I reported this 1.8.1 release here at the end of last year.

The URL stated in the current 1.7 ebuild, http://www.loomcom.com/jarbundler/, mentions version 1.6 and otherwise refers to the same project pages that I found, which herald at least 1.8.1 as a versioned release, and has even a version 1.9 for download, although this is not on sourceforge and doesn't include the version number in the download file name, so it might be a development snapshot.

Please clear up this confusion, include 1.8.1, and consider stabilizing 1.7 while you are at it, as I can see no open bugs for jarbundler other than this here.

Ok i've communicated with upstream and got them to version the tar.gz's of the latest release. Hopefully it will therefore just be as simple as copying the ebuild. Sadly im at work now so no deal wrt this until at least tonight, otherwise tomorrow.

Will also file a stabilisation bug for 1.7 once I figure out a way to unit test it. (Bundled example is MAC specific)

I think at least cglib is depping on jarbundler (although it shouldn't as no ebuild should be using jarbundler due to it's nature).

1.8.1 has been added to the tree. closing
