I think this is a gcc-bug, I could be wrong, of course.

This problem and the one you previously reported show up that you either have hardware issues (most probably) or a messed up system.
Comment 2 Jan Essert 2006-11-21 15:06:24 UTC
I would not say that my system is messed up - not even that it is very experimental or something.

I have never had any hardware problems so far - though, of course, it could begin now.

In addition I would not consider my previous bugs to show a 'messed up system' ... the last bug was --as-needed related, which is the most experimental thing on my system.

I can understand your reaction, even though I consider it a bit harsh...but I think it is not my (or my computer's) fault.

What would be some information I could provide?
Comment 3 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-21 15:18:46 UTC
well, it's possible it's a compiler bug, but we see these all of the time and they are generally related to being either running out of memory, the CPU is getting too hot, or some other hardware issue.
Comment 4 Jan Essert 2006-11-21 15:24:23 UTC
ok, so what should I do? Simply try again?
Comment 5 Caleb Tennis (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-21 16:03:57 UTC
yeah. see if it fails in the same place the same way.
