qt-mt is on the system:

# grep qt-mt /var/db/pkg/x11-libs/qt-3*/CONTENTS
obj /usr/qt/3/lib64/libqt-mt.so.3.3.6 55c52f6be46a40b674badb8fa9d96b3a 1163787947

i alse tried to:
 export QTDIR=/usr/qt/3
 then emerge kdelibs

and this also failed with the same error
Comment 3 mike <loft306> 2006-11-18 02:01:52 UTC
1) I originaly got to this problem trying to emerge media-sound/amarok-1.4.4 but that error'd and pointed to needing to recompile kdelibs.

2) however i just re-emerged the entire system 'emerge -e world' and it completed it emerged 'x11-libs/qt-4.2.1' then 'kdelibs-3.5.5' then later 'x11-libs/qt-3.3.6-r4' so im thinking that having both the slotted qt's is messing this all up im gonna try to emerge qt4 then kdelibs and see if that allows for libexpat.so.0 to load and allow me to emerge 'amarok-1.4.4'
Comment 4 mike <loft306> 2006-11-18 03:58:30 UTC
Well that worked i simply did:

 'emerge -av =x11-libs/qt-4.2.1 =kdelibs-3.5.5-r5 amarok'

and this got everything to emerge properly, however i wont say this is solved but rather is just a workaround.
Comment 5 mike <loft306> 2006-11-18 04:11:51 UTC
Or not ... everything emerged and other apps all start and work but the start of all this 'amarok' dosnt start... :( well off to bed maybe someone will have an idea on this while im asleep...
Comment 6 mike <loft306> 2006-11-18 13:31:58 UTC
it looks as everything is fixed with 'kde-base/kdelibs-3.5.5-r6' ...
