Description Stepan Moskovchenko 2006-11-16 18:11:56 UTC
Hello.
I have Radeon M9000. Pentium M, 2GHz, CPU speed is not an issue here. Using the "radeon" driver, xorg-x11 7.1. Cannot use fglrx driver, long story.

Mythtv works fine when it is started. The main menus are moderately fast and the recording list (ie watch/delete recordings) is very fast. Then I go to watch a recording. After the recording ends (or if I stop it, even after a few seconds of playback) the recordings list becomes incredibly slow. I mean, it takes about three seconds to perform any sort of list operation, such as scrolling down by one line, etc. While the recording list is waiting there, CPU usage is very high. All the fancy options (ie transparent boxes, etc) have been turned off. If mythfrontend is stopped and restarted at this point, the recording list is fine again.

If it helps, the backend isn't even situated on this computer. Ideas?

QT painter or GL painter?

Does not seem to matter. Behavior is the same with both painters. It seems like the painter only matters for the main menu screens, not the recording list.

Yep. The recording list hasn't been ported over yet. Missed that. Take it upstream, best suggestion I've got.
