Description SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 09:56:35 UTC
the latest stable ccache requires autotools ... catalyst emerges ccache at the start with --nodeps ... stage1 does not have autotools in packages.build

stage1 w/out autotools + emerge ccache --nodeps = stage2 failure
Comment 1 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 17:40:24 UTC
I just did a full stage 1-3 build for i686 with a snapshot of the tree from this morning with 'ccache' in options in catalyst.conf, and I didn't have a problem.
Comment 2 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 17:41:36 UTC
Actually, were you talking about about installing from a stage1 or building stages with catalyst?
Comment 3 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 19:26:03 UTC
probably because you're using an older ccache

i'm looking at ccache-2.4-r2 here ... the x86 stable (2.3) doesnt run autotools so you'd obviously not have a problem
Comment 4 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 19:43:27 UTC
You said in the initial report that this was the latest stable ccache...liar :P
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-11-16 22:41:56 UTC
it is the latest stable ccache on my architectures ... just because your architecture is outdated is not my problem
Comment 6 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-17 06:33:59 UTC
So what parts of autotools do we need to add to packages.build, exactly?
Comment 7 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2006-11-26 10:17:54 UTC
you cant really break autotools up ... you either need all of them or none of them

autoconf / automake / libtool

I guess I wasn't clear, then, so let me be clearer.

Exactly what do we need to add so stage1 will have a working autotools?

Is just automake/autoconf enough? Do we need to add libtool? Any of the -wrapper stuff?
Comment 10 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2007-01-08 04:51:27 UTC
autoconf/automake/libtool

anything else needed will be pulled in via RDEPEND
Comment 11 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-04 18:16:40 UTC
OK. I've added this to CVS. I'll be keeping this one open until we get 2007.0 out.
Comment 12 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-05-09 20:30:04 UTC
This should be fixed in 2007.0 stage1 tarballs.
