If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if relevant. Simplest solution to make it work is change (after unpacking, before build) PACKAGE_STRING in configure file from 'binio 1.4' to (for example) 'binio-1.4' (no spaces inside) eventualy somehow change quotes but i dont know how:-)
Could you please post "emerge --info"? It works perfectly here. The main difference in my output is, that it writes "-DPACKAGE_STRING=\"binio 1.4\"" instead of just -DPACKAGE_STRING=\"binio 1.4\" on my machine. Which probably causes the error.

This cause a problem but i still dont understand why it happens...
Is this still a problem? If so, which version of sed and make are you using? Also, please attach /var/tmp/portage/dev-cpp/libbinio-1.4/work/libbinio-1.4/src/Makefile.
Please reopen if needed.
