Description gregor pfyffer 2003-02-11 15:10:25 UTC
I put the cd (1.4rc2 livecd) in the drive and it booted correctly, isolinux
worked fine
but then the trouble started, no option i added could avoid the system to hang
up during first boot just after detection of the last drive.the screen reads:

...
hdd: _NEC DV-5700A
spurious 8259A interrupt: IRQ7

then nothing anymore just a blinking cursor.
None of the startup options suggested by isolinux changed anything, I tried
every combination.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.boot the 1.4rc2 livecd

Actual Results:
system freezes

Expected Results:
continuing booting kernel
then installing gentoo

my system:

AMD Athlon 900Mhz
640Mb RAM
Abit KT7A-Raid
Seagate Barracuda 40GB on IDE1
Plextor Plexwriter 4012A on IDE3
NEC DV-5700A on IDE2
two Maxtor 40GB on HPT370 Raid controller
