After installing net-misc/nxserver-freenx-0.5.0-r1 and manually copying over the /usr/NX/home/nx/.ssh folder from a previous nx installation to /var/lib/nxserver the client still cannot log into the nx server due to file permission problems with /var/lib/nxserver/db/*. The db directory is owned by root, but nxserver runs as the nx user.

Hi,

Please run nxsetup --override --install.  This sets the permissions on that directory.
