Description Alexandre Buisse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 10:31:17 UTC
Dear arch teams, the big day has come. After a long, long waiting, we now ask you to please consider stabilizing our beautiful baby, tetex-3.0_p1-r3. It's already ~arch everywhere except on mips. As bug #124511 shows, there are no more open issues (that we are aware of, at least).

It would also be nice if mips, ppc, ppc64, ppc-macos, sparc and x86 could stabilize tetex-2.0.2-r9 at the same time, in order to avoid unnecessary recompilations. Those two versions of tetex are the ones that we will likely keep for some time.

Thanks in advance.
Comment 1 Ferris McCormick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 11:05:54 UTC
sparc stable for both. We plan to hold you to the "Those two versions of tetex are the ones that we will likely keep for some time" comment. :)

Did you have a teTeX version installed before you did the emerge that failed?

Tests have always been a bit shaky when installing teTeX for the first time.
Comment 4 Christian Faulhammer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 14:33:41 UTC
tetex-3.0_p1-r3 is stable on x86
2.0.2-r9 has a test issue (same as ppc) which is investigated by nattfodd, so this will wait a bit

Readding sparc, you stabled the wrong version.
Comment 5 Timothy Redaelli (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 14:52:01 UTC
tetex-3.0_p1-r3 stable on ppc
Comment 6 Alexandre Buisse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 15:08:57 UTC
@Opfer: on this issue, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115775#c39

We should probably disable this test entirely, Martin, what do you think?

I grew tired of fixing tests for tetex a long time ago :-)
They rarely mean anything, so disable broken tests is probably the way to go, IMO.

So I did. I was thinking the right version, but there was a disconnect. I'm fixing it now, if repoman ever decides to finish.
Comment 9 Ferris McCormick (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-08 16:21:47 UTC
Now tetex-3.0_p1-r3 really is stable on sparc, like I thought I had done in the first place. Sorry for being unable to read or whatever my problem was.
Comment 10 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-09 06:03:53 UTC
app-text/tetex-3.0_p1-r3 stable for HPPA.

Would you be so kind and do that, as Alexandre is not available at the moment.

I'll look into it this weekend.

Btw. do you know why is Alexandre unavailable at the moment?

He told me he is in Sweden and can't do anything for Gentoo.

...and marked stable. Waiting for tetex-2 though

I'm sorry, I should have warned you, I'll just be mostly unavailable until next wednesday (I've set my devaway accordingly).
Hopefully, all those issues can wait a bit.

No need to, that was stabled on amd64 7 months ago ;)

Patch to skip bibtex test

@Opfer: can you test this patch and tell me if tetex-2.0.2 passes all tests with it?

It passes everything, I only had to patch Makefile.in instead of Makefile.

Will that patch ever be applied? Does it matter?

Comment 22 Alexandre Buisse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-11-29 05:59:50 UTC
I've added the patch to tetex-2.0.2-r9 (applying it to Makefile.in instead of Makefile, thanks Christian).
Sorry for the delay.

No problem...thank you. Done on x86.
