Please add a Gnome use flag on compiz.

Put something like this for DEPEND:
gnome? (>=gnome-base/control-center-2.16.1)

`use_enable gnome` in the econf section.

and gnome in IUSE.

This will make about 30 dependencies go away on my system and works.

1/ Don't restrict bugs without any reason, just leave the checkboxes alone.
2/ This is completely impossible, kindly use beryl instead of you dislike the Gnome dependencies. What's optional is dbus and svg support, this rest is not optional at all.

Impossible? Why? I'm using an ebuild modified the way I posted here and it works. Compiz and beryl are not the same.

Jakub, kindly use KDE instead of Gnome.;)
