Hi, a few weeks ago the final numpy-1.0 has been released. Ebuild is attached below. It contains only minor changes compared to the 1.0_rc1 version.

1.0.1 now available. It looks like renaming should suffice.
It would really be nice to have this in portage. Scipy-0.5.2 is also ready, and depends on numpy-1.0. matplotlib-0.87.7 was also released to support numpy-1.0.

Tested for #151819, and it didn't show up with this version. Merged with the ebuild at gentooscience.org. Compiles both with and without lapack flag (whatever that stuff may be). Tested against matplotlib-0.87.7. Apparently http://projects.scipy.org/scipy/numpy/ticket/182 is fixed now, so I took out "unset LDFLAGS", and nothing bad happened.
1.0.1 is now in portage...
