Description brullo nulla 2006-11-04 04:07:47 UTC
Playing bzflag reproducibly freezes my system after a (random) while. In one instance bzflag freezes but the system seems at least partially OK (mouse moves, ping works, but switching to a tty with alt-ctrl-F* didn't work, nor alt-ctr-backspace). In another the system was hard locked -not answering to ping. /var/log/messages however didn't report anything odd.

Invariably the freeze occurs at the very start of a new game turn after having been killed -just when the tank lands on the map, with the red screen.

Briefly, my system is an x86 system (Athlon AMD Duron), compiled with gcc 3.4.6. I'm using the open source radeon drivers with an ATI Radeon 9200SE, on Xorg 7.1.1.

If an application locks your system, it's not the application's fault.

Thanks for the tip. For the next time, what should I blame? so I can file the bug/request for help/whatever correctly :)

Nearly 3 years into this bug...

If you can still reproduce with an up-to-date system, please don't hesitate to reopen this bug.

Thanks
