The package "sci-biology/emboss" was keyworded ~sparc some time ago. However, the "emboss" USE flag is still masked in the sparc profiles. This means optional EMBOSS support cannot be enabled in the following packages: aaindex, CUTG, PRINTS, Prosite, rebase and TransFac. Since these are PDEPENDencies of EMBOSS but are built without EMBOSS support on sparc, EMBOSS installations on sparc are somewhat broken. (Try running "restrict" for instance. You should get an error message about missing data files.) Also, "emboss" should be in the default USE flags for sparc just like it is for x86, amd64, ppc, ppc64 and ppc-macos now that EMBOSS is available on sparc, since most users expect EMBOSS support in the above-mentionned packages. (This happens everytime a new arch keywords EMBOSS... See bugs #96529 and #105086. ;-) Thanks in advance,
Are there any of those packages keyworded sparc? If there are, emboss can't be removed from use.mask until emboss is stable.
Everything on ~sparc looks good for unmasking emboss, and since we don't appear to have anything marked stable with the emboss use flag in it. I've unmasked it. Thanks for the bug report :)
Thanks, but I think we still need to have emboss added to the default USE flags in the sparc profiles. Otherwise, support for EMBOSS in packages such as Rebase or PROSITE will still be missing, and a few EMBOSS programs rely on that support.
OK, use flag enabled by default, so it's really fixed this time :)
