From http://www.xcdroast.org/#news: xdroast and recent cdrtool versions: For a while now the newer cdrtools are no longer fully compatible with X-CD-Roast. A patch from Helmut Jarausch fixes a problem with mkisofs. Again I remind you, that you can use X-CD-Roast with the new cdrtools (including the free DVD-support, without the need for a key) when you copy the binary from "cdrecord" to "cdrecord.prodvd" and start X-CD-Roast with the "-n" option (to skip the version check). The patch can be downloaded from: http://www.xcdroast.org/xcdr098/patches/modern_cdrtools.patch Thanks a lot for fixing it :-)
I don't use xcdroast any more and I was already about to remove it, but as it still works, I kept it in the tree and will still maintain it. Thanks for the patch, I'll review it. And I think, that it's possible to install the link from cdrecord to cdrecord.prodvd when the dvd-use-flag is enabled. This can also make sure, that a current cdrecord-version is used instead of cdrkit. Probably it's also possible to create a patch that it should skip the version-check by itself.
I use xcdroast and I prefer it over other apps. Thanks a lot for maintaining it :-)
can we please get this put into the tree? i validate the patch is good and working on amd64..
I added the patch to xcdroast-0.98_alpha15-r4.ebuild. Please test and report any problems (especially with cdrkit).
