net-misc/whois-4.7.19 tries to muck with files it apparently does not own: * checking 14 files for package collisions existing file /usr/bin/whois is not owned by this package existing file /usr/share/man/man1/whois.1.gz is not owned by this package equery does not show the file belonging to anybody, even on other systems I run. By the way, are bugs regarding collisions wanted, or is it too spammy / minor? I'm perfectly willing to stop filing them unless say, it was trying to goof with something major (i.e. not a man page). The bugs are just fine, supposed you can find out what installed the offending file. If you can't, well then just delete it and move on, nothing we could do there, sorry.
