app-misc/lirc-0.8.0-r5 does not compile with linux-2.6.19 because of the missing linux/config.h. There are quite a lot of config.h issues out there, maybe you want a metabug to allow for uniform handling of this issue.

I just repeated my fix from bug 153553, i.e. added the following to src_unpack:

find -name \*.[hc] -print0 | \
xargs -0 sed -i 's:#include <linux/config\.h>:#include <linux/autoconf.h>:'

Solved today by adding fix to new created lirc-0.8.0-r6.
