Description Matt Drew (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-30 17:28:43 UTC
probably a good one to stabilize on, they *say* it'll be the last of the 2.x series.

Supercede bug #138502?
Comment 1 Stefano 2006-10-31 01:16:53 UTC
The old ebuild works perfectly well on the new version with just the usual name change... only, remove enotice for msfupdate which is obsolete, and substitute with:
$ cd /usr/lib/metasploit
$ svn update

New version is in cvs. Thank you, Matt, for report.

BTW. Actually I'm not using this package. But to ask about stabilization it's good idea to have some simple tasks how to test the package. Can anybody of you suggest such tasks? You do not need to reopen bug, write your ideas here and I receive them. Thank you.

you should be able to launch msfconsole and navigate through its interface, up to configuring and launching an exploit.

you should be further able to launch msfweb interface and use it through your browser of choice to perform the same tasks.

this package is very simple, in spite of its complexity ;)
