Description Tony Vroon (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-30 08:01:07 UTC
A rather severe memleak was identified in audacious 1.2.0 and 1.1.2 that only appears to trigger on KDE and other non-Gnome environments. With every VT/background change, the complete background image is leaked. Over time, this can exhaust the memory on the machine.
Previous XMMS users argue that the alternative player should be in a usable state, and I can't help but agree. Could you please consider marking stable:
media-sound/audacious-1.2.1
media-plugins/audacious-plugins-1.2.2-r1

Discussed this with the PPC security contact (Tobias Scherbaum a.k.a. dertobi123), this is a local DoS and should be assigned to security. Doing so.

Too many disagreements on this one. I'll hold off.
