Description Pekka-Matti Nieminen 2006-10-30 06:18:36 UTC
emerge --info is down below...

emerge =libcdio-0.77 fails when using automake-1.10.

Editing libcdio-0.77.ebuild to call automake-1.9.6 (WANT_AUTOMAKE="1.9") makes things go just fine...
(With automake-1.8.5 things also work, but automakes 1.7.9 and 1.6.3 cause automake error. Not really relevant info though.)

This happens with automake-1.10 (or as .ebuild calls it "latest")

Comment 2 Jesús Guerrero Botella (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-30 19:12:07 UTC
Hi, same problem here, I've got automake 1.10 as latest version installed, so, I commented out these two lines at the beginning of libcdio-0.77.ebuild:

#WANT_AUTOMAKE="latest"
#WANT_AUTOCONF="latest"

And issued 'WANT_AUTOMAKE="1.5" emerge libcdio' which failed as well, then I tried some more versions, and finally, with 'WANT_AUTOMAKE="1.9.6-r2"' it compiled fine.

I want post the error info since it is identical to this shown above.

My emerge info is this:

Fixed in CVS.
This is one good example of why using WANT_AUTOMAKE="latest" rather than asking for a particular version is "bad" :/
