Description Eric Brown 2006-10-29 15:08:39 UTC
net.ath0 keeps starting up even though it's not in any runlevel. I thought this was related to an /etc/conf.d/rc issue with hotplug devices causing services to start, but it's not.

How can I stop this without removing the module from autoload, and why isn't this functionality off by default (it's a security risk in my opinion)?

It can also be caused by coldplug (configurable in /etc/conf.d/rc).

Aside from that, baselayout takes no futher role in the starting of net.ath0 so something outside of our scope is starting it on your behalf. If you feel this is the case, please re-open.
