I'm attempting to do a stage1 build using catalyst. Here's the spec file -- all I'm doing at this point is changing some names subarch: x86 target: stage1 #version_stamp: 2006.1 version_stamp: rameau-0.1 rel_type: default profile: default-linux/x86/no-nptl snapshot: 2006.1 source_subpath: default/stage3-x86-2006.0 distcc_hosts: 127.0.0.1 192.168.0.180 192.168.0.194 It gets to the point where it needs to download "python-2.4-patches-2.tar.bz2" and then can't seem to find the file on any of the mirrors. Has this file disappeared from the mirrors since the 2006.1 release? Would a newer snapshot make things better or worse, given bug 147184?

There is absolutely nothing we can do if a file is no longer on the mirrors. Once the ebuild is removed from the live tree, the distfiles for it are removed from the mirrors a few days later. Also, this isn't catalyst related. The same thing would happen if you were doing an install using the 2006.1 portage snapshot.
