Description Alin Năstac (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-21 01:25:49 UTC
This package has been bumped without ~ppc, keyword which was present in previous version (0.9.14).
In an IRC conversation, Tony (aka chainsaw) said it wasn't able to test it on ppc and therefore it dropped the keyword.

Since there isn't any reason not to obey our policy (the one that sais we should mark a bumped version as testing on all arches supported by previous version), I ask you to restore ~ppc keyword.

Policy also states that if there's a major bump to the software (build change, major functionality change, rewrite, etc.) it's also fine to drop keywords and ask for the ebuild to be re-keyworded. Since Tony is a member of the ppc team, it's fine if he doesn't think it should be keyworded.

Alin, do you have the hardware to test this package on ppc so we can re-keyword it? If not, then we can compile test it and mark it ~ppc again or just drop the keyword.

Nope, I cannot test it.

I was hoping you will mark ~ppc again rather than dropping the keyword. We have in the tree vast amount of ~arch keyworded stuff that neither of us can test properly.
Either way, this bug's goal is to allow me to drop the old version.

If you had said this in the first place, I would have just compile tested to begin with.

Compile tested and marked ~ppc.
