Hi Maarten, Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this here on my x86 box. Just to make sure that this is not related to bad compilation could you please try recompiling with "-march=k8 -O2" and report back. Thanks, Markus
Could you please try with scilab-4.1 (should hit the mirrors in about an hour from now and let me know if you still have this problem? Thanks, Markus
Scilab-4.1 doesn't install in a useable way (permissions and symlinks seem messed up), i'll have to look at it later.
Odd, scilab-4.1 installs and works just fine on both of my dev boxes. Please provide as much detail as possible should your install problems persist. Thanks, Markus
Going to sum up some problems (as i find them): lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 83 2007-02-12 19:27 /usr/bin/scilab -> /var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/scilab-4.1/image///usr/lib64/scilab-4.1/bin/scilab
/usr/bin/scilab: line 27: /var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/scilab-4.1/work/scilab-4.1/pvm3/lib/pvmgetarch: Permission denied /usr/bin/scilab: line 58: /var/tmp/portage/sci-mathematics/scilab-4.1/work/scilab-4.1/bin/scilex: Permission denied
It looks like some of the sed's in the build don't do what they're supposed to on your machine. Could you please post the first 50 lines of /usr/lib64/scilab-4.1/bin/scilab. Also, if you could post the output of your emerge somewhere that would be useful. Thanks, Markus
Hi Maarten, Do you still have these problems with scilab-4.1.1? Thanks, Markus
Closing this a NEEDINFO. Please reopen if the problem still persists. Thanks, Makrus
