K3b: growisofs 6.1

Unable to burn an isoimage (for a DVD) on a DVD-RW. Program just stops and gives no error.
Unable to burn an isoimage (for DVD) on a DVD+RW. Program does not overwrite the (not blank) DVD+RW.
Comment 1 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-20 08:57:48 UTC
growisofs is not a KDE package...

Please provide the exact error output and have also a look at bug 105111 and bug 142296.
Comment 2 Armin Mohring 2006-10-20 09:43:48 UTC
ouput of "console" of k3b, if I want to start burning.
Using growisofs 6.1 (c)...
starting writing

Then the burner just stops working and does not want to continue operating.
I had this problem with the DVD burner (NEC DVD-RW 2510A) from the beginning.
I have no acess to another DVD burner, so I can not prove, wheter it is the hardware or the software.
Comment 3 Armin Mohring 2006-10-20 09:47:09 UTC
In fact cdrecord (2.1....) on the same drive works well.
I have tested this with CD-RW and DVD+-RW.
In this caes I have burned isoimages for CD (size <=700MB)

Comment 4 Armin Mohring 2006-10-23 05:07:00 UTC
Actually, I have burned 10 DVD+RW (DVD-RW are not accepted by growisofs) and all attempts were sucessfull. I really do not know, what happend, as the burner did not work.???.

I think, I should close this "bug".
