The latest package on the x86 arch specific branch of the online package database  (http://packages.gentoo.org/archs/x86/) is:

baselayout 1.13.0_alpha2
Mon Oct 16 16:54:43 2006

The main list (http://packages.gentoo.org/) shows that there have been packages updated since that time (and I've installed a few as well).

Just thought you should know.
