I guess this is where I make a request for someone to make an ebuild for net-im/gaim-2.0.0beta4, released today.
I think I psychic, somehow I knew this bug report would be here... Interesting reading for the reporter? http://planet.gentoo.org/developers/deathwing00/2006/10/16/just_another_0_day_bump_request

Created attachment 100032 [details, diff] dbus patch updated for core/ui split Here's what I've found so far: The avahi-compat and as-needed patches are no longer necessary as they've been integrated upstream. The dbus patch needed to be updated because of the libgaim/ui split, so I've attached that here. I have an ebuild, but it's failing on linking libgg.la. /bin/sh ../../../libtool --silent --tag=CC --mode=link x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -I. -g -O2 -march=athlon64 -pipe -o libgg.la -rpath /usr/lib64/gaim -module -avoid-version common.lo dcc.lo events.lo http.lo libgadu.lo obsolete.lo pubdir50.lo pubdir.lo gg-utils.lo confer.lo search.lo buddylist.lo gg.lo -Wl,--export-dynamic -pthread -lgobject-2.0 -lgmodule-2.0 -ldl -lgthread-2.0 -lglib-2.0 -L. -lgadu -lnsl -lresolv /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.1/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: cannot find -lgadu collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make[4]: *** [libgg.la] Error 1 make[4]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta4/work/gaim-2.0.0beta4/libgaim/protocols/gg' make[3]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta4/work/gaim-2.0.0beta4/libgaim/protocols' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta4/work/gaim-2.0.0beta4/libgaim' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/tmp/portage/net-im/gaim-2.0.0_beta4/work/gaim-2.0.0beta4' make: *** [all] Error 2
Sorry about the 0-day bump request. I'm not a frequent user of bugzilla, and I wasn't sure whether this was how things got done or not. It won't happen again! :p
I don't mind getting a bump request, even if it is a 0day request. I can't always check every day for new versions and getting a bump request actually let's me know there's one out.
Gothgirl has just bumped it in the tree and will be closing the bug.
Added to the tree, should be out on mirrors shortly. Thank you guys :)
